About me

I first came in contact with Yoga in 1998 and more than 15 years ago Yoga became a more regular practice in my life firstly as physical exercise. I needed something to stay fit and I wanted to prevent possible occupational injuries after many years of tailoring and cutting. There was something in the way you practice the Asanas that was so different than other kind of physical exercises I had tried before. It did not take long before I realized Yoga is so much more than physical, it connected me with my mind in a way I had never experienced before. I became more aware and respectful of my own body and everything around me. Heart disease runs in my family and I started to look at yogic practices to prevent myself from going down the same path as some of my family. Today I use Yoga foremost as a preventative practice and it has given me the tools that I need for life's everyday struggles and hurdles. 

Have you ever heard someone say: "Yoga changed my life"? If you let it, Yoga can and will change your life! Yoga is a lifelong journey and not just about what you do on the mat, it's even more about what you do off the mat! It doesn't have to be complicated to work and by making small changes to make it a part of your daily life it can soon become a Lifestyle. 

With a theraputic and holistic approach in my teaching I focus on the health of the entire body and mind to help others prevent and/or overcome things like stress, fatigue, lack of sleep, pain and to achieve body and breath awareness, mindfulness and an overall better quality of life.

If you are new to Yoga or find that open big classes are not for you I can create a tailored practice to fit your specific needs. Yoga starts where you are right now and with the time you have. My goal is to help and insire you to make Yoga a part of your everyday life!

To personalize your practice I teach in small groups or on a one-on-one basis, in person as well as on-line. I create Yoga prescriptions as part of individual mentoring programs. 

As a teacher and mentor I see my job to inspire students to continue their practice, whatever that practice may be!
Yoga is Not something you Do, it's who you Are!

Work with me

This is normally done as a 10 week program, either in person or online. After a consultation you will get a personalised Yoga prescription to practice on your own for one week. I will build the practice after your unique needs, wants and time you are able to spend on your practice per day.

We meet once a week and each week you will get a new personalised prescription. This is a great way to practice Yoga therapy and to bring it into your lifestyle by making it a part of your everyday life.

After the 10 weeks we discuss further on how you would like to continue.

In Hatha Yoga we attempt to balance the body and the mind in order to stimulate the kundalini and balance our chakras. This is done through practicing asanas (poses), pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation.

This practice allows you to feel the asanas and to experience them, you develop awareness and attention to the present moment through conscious breathing. You work on strength, flexibility, relaxation and mindfulness.

Yin Yoga is based on the Taoist theory of the five elements used in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

It is a very passive, deep and meditative practice where the poses are held for a longer period of time and sometimes with the help of props. This is so we can fully relax the muscles and with time and gravity target the deeper tissues such as ligaments, joints and connective tissues. This practice allows you to go deep within and it will improve your flexibility.

Yoga Nidra in Sanskrit means Yogic Sleep. It’s an ancient Indian practice that gives us access to our deep subconscious, giving us the opportunity to become aware of our inner levels.

With very specific steps and instructions we move our awareness from the external world into our inner world. In the state of consciousness between sleeping and awake we can heal, restore and awaken our true and blissful Self.

This enables us to release tension, anxiety, fear, phobias and also to tap into our own healing energy. It’s very beneficial as a relaxation and for those suffering from lack of sleep, trauma, burn-out or if you find meditating difficult.
